It’s kind of funny: A scammer makes a fake website called betagtav.com claiming to have fake beta keys for Rockstar Games’ upcoming Grand Theft Auto V. Of course, the site is fake but they should have anticipated that Rockstar would want all control over anything GTA V related.
Hence publisher Take Two Interactive registered five complaints with other sites promising Grand Theft Auto 5 beta access though the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Along with winning a dispute with getgtavbeta.com, Take Two now has cases pending for gtavbeta.net, gtavbeta.org and gta5downloadsecure.com.
Currently, if one accesses the betagtav.com, it will automatically redirect to Rockstar’s official website for the game. Given the enormous number of scam sites that generally exist, this will no doubt mark a long and hard battle by Take Two to eliminate the same.
Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto V is slated to release on September 17th 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360. Rumours state that the game could also arrive on next generation consoles, PC and Wii U.
