After a successful launch that saw Halo Infinite attracting over 20 million players and widespread praise from critics, 343 Industries’ shooter has failed to build up momentum, with its lack of content updates and spotty communication from the developers giving rise to plenty of frustration in the community. With Season 2: Lone Wolves coming up not long from now, Halo Infinite will soon be hoping to address some of that issues- and it looks like there is additional new content in the works as well that hasn’t been officially unveiled just yet.
As spotted on Twitter by @Delta_Hub, booting up Halo Infinite in offline mode will allow you to get a brief sneak peak of what seems to be a new multiplayer mode. Apparently called “Last Spartan Standing”, it seems to be a cross between Gun Game and Free-for-All, set on Big Team Battle maps, with players unlocking improved weapons as their Personal Score increases in a bid to be the last player standing at the end of a match.
343 Industries has previously said that Halo Infinite’s second season will be bringing in new multiplayer modes, and in a recent glimpse at the new season, the developer briefly mentioned the Last Spartan Standing mode, though details on it remain scant until now.
According to reports, it’s not the only new upcoming multiplayer mode for the shooter either. Support studio Certain Affinity is also allegedly working on a more “newcomer-friendly” Halo Infinite mode- read more on that through here.
