Halo Infinite Releasing in Holiday 2021, Multiplayer Gameplay Revealed

Old favorites like the Spartan Hammer and Energy Sword return for multiplayer while new weapons, Ordinance drops and more have been added.

343 Industries showcased some new gameplay captured in-engine for Halo Infinite, first starting with a look at Zeta Halo (which looks much improved over last year). From there, it shifts to some new story scenes with Master Chief conversing with a new AI. It seems Cortana, who did all sorts of things in Halo 5: Guardians, has gone missing. This new AI, who was supposed to be deleted, joins Chief in his quest.

But that’s not all. Multiplayer was finally revealed and contained much of the chaos known to the franchise. There are new weapons like the Skewer to behold but favorites like the Spartan Hammer and Energy Sword also return. You can also use the grappling hook to ships and hijack them, tossing the other player out. Ordinance drops can also be called in to bring other vehicles to the fight.

Capture the Flag is showcased along with a sweet custom helm that resembles a samurai. It’s worth noting that Halo Infinite will be releasing Holiday 2021 instead of the previously stated Fall release window. Both the campaign and multiplayer are coming at launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
