Halo Infinite Update Adds Team Slayer, Free-For-All, Fiesta, and Tactical Slayer Playlists

Ranked play has also seen some changes with close individual skill matches being prioritized more for higher skilled players.

Fans have been clamoring for this ever since Halo Infinite’s multiplayer launched and 343 Industries has finally delivered. Its most recent update has added Team Slayer, Free-For-All, Tactical Slayer (aka SWAT) and Fiesta as regular playlists. This is only a “first step” though – the team has plans in the long term for “rotational and core playlists, game modes, and improved matchmaking experiences.”

Some interesting changes have also been made to the Ranked playlist, increasing priority for close individual skill matches for players in the higher tiers. Big Team Battle’s matchmaking rule have also been adjusted to prioritize matches with lower latency. The timeout for overall matchmaking is now 10 minutes which should help higher skilled players find matches (especially if they’re in teams or regions with a low player base).

Big Team Battle has been facing some issues over the past week or so and the developer is still working towards resolving them. As for additional Ranked Playlists, more time is required for updates due to the more “technical complexities” of the mode. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
