Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has been making adjustments to the game’s multiplayer component ever since it launched a month ago, and while several positive changes have been made to the Battle Pass progression, one issue that players have had that has gone unaddressed up until this point is the limited number of playlists available in the game.

Last week, 343 Industries confirmed that that would be addressed soon, with several multiplayer playlists coming before the end of the year, and now, specific details have been revealed on that front. In an update published on Reddit by community director Brian Jarrard, it’s been confirmed that Halo Infinite is adding four multiplayer playlists with an update that’ll go live on December 14. The four playlists are  Slayer, Fiesta, Free for All, and Tactical Slayer (SWAT).

Where Slayer is concerned, Jarrard says that for now, the playlist is going to have basic Slayer offerings only, but more variants of the mode will be added later as well. He wrote: “As I noted last week, the team’s original plans for a Slayer playlist included a variety of new variants that weren’t going to be ready in time to deploy before the holiday break. To address player feedback for Slayer in the near term, we’ll be releasing a basic Slayer offering to start and will look to bolster and expand with more variants in a future update.”

Interestingly, several upcoming Halo Infinite multiplayer modes were recently leaked via a datamine- read more on that through here.

Meanwhile, Jarrard has also confirmed that the upcoming update will continue to make further adjustments to Battle Pass progression as well, including a new challenge category that will focus on accumulating player score, which should make progression more performance-based, as many players have been demanding.

Jarrard wrote: “Next week’s update will also include adjustments to challenges including removing some particularly frustrating mode-specific ones, reducing some requirements for others, making the weekly ultimate challenge less intensive (getting there is tough enough), and adding brand new challenges specific to the new playlists. Personally I’m eager to check out a new challenge category that’s based on accumulating player score (a small initial step towards ‘performance based XP’). We’ll have some more details to share on Halo Waypoint next week.”

Halo Infinite is available now on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. You can read our review of the game’s multiplayer component through here. Our single player campaign review will be live soon as well, so stay tuned for that.
