Alongside these details, 343 Industries has also revealed details of future updates, which will focus on various aspects of the game, such as mouse+keyboard improvements, networking improvements, and other balance updates.
One of the bigger features of a future update will likely be the addition of a “walk” button for mouse and keyboard players. An area where controller players have had an advantage, mouse and keyboard players haven’t had a reliable way to make their character walk—and thus avoid radar detection. The only option keyboard and mouse players currently have is to crouch walk, which has its own set of advantages and disadvantages.
Halo Infinite’s networking is also going to be getting an upgrade in a future update. The studio has identified a few reasons for desync issues players have been reporting, including desync between the player and the server, the detection of blank shots fired by players, getting shot around walls and corners, and ghost melees.
Each of these areas is seeing extensive testing at 343 Industries, and these issues will likely be solved in future updates one at a time.
Halo Infinite is available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
