While Dragon’s Dogma 2 topped US software charts for March 2024 per Circana’s Matt Piscatella, Helldivers 2 wasn’t far behind. It ranked in second place and is still the best-selling premium title of the year to date. Furthermore, it’s the seventh best-selling title (in terms of lifetime dollar sales) published by Sony, despite only being on sale for two months.
Helldivers 2 also sat pretty on top of the most-played games on Steam for the month, which isn’t surprising. Its current 24-hour peak is 125,353 players, according to SteamDB, and it peaked at 345,188 concurrent players on April 7th during the height of the Automaton war. Among the top ten best-selling premium titles on PlayStation, it ranked second in dollar sales, just behind the debuting MLB: The Show 24.
Helldivers 2 is available for PS5 and PC, with sales estimated to have crossed eight million as of March 16th. Rumors indicate “very, very early preliminary discussions” in bringing the co-op shooter to Xbox Series X/S, and though plans could change, never say never. Stay tuned for potential announcements in the coming months.
