High on Life launched earlier this month for PC and Xbox, and though it’s not a massive AAA blockbuster and has seen mixed reception from critics, wider audiences have really taken to the first person shooter. Not only did the game top Steam’s sales charts in its debut week, outselling the likes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and FIFA 23, it is also flying high on Game Pass, which it launched for day and date.
Currently in the US, High on Life is the most popular game on Game Pass for both console and PC, which means it has surpassed the likes of Minecraft, Forza Horizon 5, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and Halo Infinite. It’s enjoying similar success in the UK, where it’s also on top of the Game Pass charts for both platforms.
Coming from a smaller team, especially as a new IP, High on Life’s success right out the game has certainly been impressive. The question going forward for many will now be what Squanch Games chooses to do with the property- though we might not get the answer to that question for a while yet.
High on Life is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
