Hitman 3 launched yesterday, and IO Interactive’s stealth sandbox title gives players the chance to carry over their progress from Hitman 2, bringing over unlocked items and weapons and such. To do that, however, you need to sync progress from the previous game on a dedicated website. That process, it seems, didn’t pan out very smoothly, with many requests failing and quite a few players failing to sync their progress.
IO Interactive has responded to the complaints arising as a result of the issues. On Twitter, the developer explains that “thousands of players” are being processed, while even more are coming in constantly, and that failed requests are being placed in a queue. The developer says it’s also working on addressing the issue of many people not getting emails for new accounts or resetting passwords. You can read their response below.
Hitman 3 is out now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia, as well as on the Nintendo Switch as a cloud exclusive release. In our review of the game, we called it “the peak of the series, of IO Interactive, and of the social stealth genre.” You can read our full review through here.
