Hitman Level Design Videos Show How The Game Came Together

The videos shows the game being built from the ground up.

With the official launch of the first chapter of Hitman coming in just a few weeks, IO Interactive and Ubisoft have released a couple of new videos that are geared towards showing people just how the game was developed. In particular the new videos show how the team working on the game went about the process of level design. It should be pointed out that IO Interactive likely went out of its way to show how the game was put together, precisely because there has been  so much confusion over how the game was going to be released.

These days, the developers are talking more about how they hope that other games in the very near future will actually attempt to follow the model they put forth. The pair of recently released videos feature Principal Level Designer Jacob Mikkelson and Level Designer Marta La Mendola talking about who they were able to dream up the levels in the new Hitman game and they really spare no detail. The pair are actually talking about the concept right from the very beginning and we get to see some of the earliest drafts of what they expected the game to look like.

We see Agent 47 going up against prototype designs of the enemies and how they add one level of detail and then another, and then another until we’re looking at the world and the character we’re used to seeing in the franchise. Check out both videos below and get ready, because Hitman is coming to the Xbox One, PS4 and PC on March 11.
