Hogwarts Legacy for PS4 and Xbox One Delayed to April 2023, Switch Version Delayed to July

The open world action RPG will still launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in February, as previously announced.

Hogwarts Legacy was given February 2023 launch date earlier in the year, but plans for the open world action RPG’s release have seen some changes. WB Games has announced that on last-gen consoles and the Nintendo Switch, the game is going to launch later than expected.

Taking to Twitter, the company recently via announced via the official Hogwarts Legacy page that the game’s PS4 and Xbox One versions have been delayed to April 4, while the Nintendo Switch version has been delayed to July 25. Interestingly, there’s still no clarity on whether the Switch version will be native or delivered via the cloud, but it now looks like there’s plenty of time left for WB Games to announce those details now.

Of course, if you were planning on playing Hogwarts Legacy on PC or current-gen consoles, there won’t be any delay for you. On PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, it launches on February 10, 2023, as previously announced. The early access period will begin on February 7.

In an FAQ, WB Games has also confirmed that the Deluxe Edition on PS4 and Xbox One will no longer include the 72-hour early access bonus. In order to “get everyone in the game as early as possible”, the Standard and Deluxe Editions on last-gen consoles will not launch at the same time, on April 4.

Meanwhile, developer Avalanche Software has also announced that Hogwarts Legacy’s PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions have gone gold- read more on that through here.

A new gameplay showcase for Hogwarts Legacy will go live tomorrow. Stay tuned for more updates on that front.
