Since its gameplay showing earlier this year, we haven’t seen much of Hogwarts Legacy, but ahead of its purported launch later this year, it seems publisher WB Games might be gearing up to start the rollout of new details on the open world action RPG. At the recent Autodesk Vision Series, for instance, as part of a presentation detailing how the game uses Autodesk Maya and MotionBuilder, developer Avalanche Software showed off a new cinematic.
The cutscene, which you can check out below (courtesy of Twitter user @HogLegNews) shows two Hogwarts students watching on as as they a hippogriff names Highwing being restrained and subdued by wizards, before then formulating a plan to free it from captivity and gather evidence. As the cutscene ends, the two students are separated, with what is presumably the player character looking for a different way to get to their destination.
Additionally, Avalanche Software also showed off glimpses of the game’s character customization, briefly showing several of the presets that will be available to players, offering different faces, costumes, and more. Check it out below.
Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to launch in Holiday 2022. Recently, details on its Collector’s and Deluxe Editions were leaked, while the release of its official art book might also be pointing to December launch.
Whenever it launches, Hogwarts Legacy will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Whether or not the Switch version will be cloud-exclusive remains to be seen.
