Earlier this year, we finally got our first proper, extended look at Hogwarts Legacy gameplay, with developer Avalanche Software and publisher WB Games announcing at the time that the open world action RPG would be out sometime in Holiday 2022. Updates on the game have dried up since then, but it seems details on what the game’s costlier editions will include have seemingly managed to slip through the cracks.
A Reddit user was recently able to access files hidden in the game’s official website, revealing the aforementioned details. Hogwarts Legacy will seemingly have three editions- Standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s.
The Standard Edition will include the base game only, while the Deuxe Edition will add plenty of in-game bonuses on top of that- a Thestral mount, the Dark Arts cosmetic pack, the Dark Arts battle arena, and the Kelpie robe, while the Digital Deluxe Edition will also get access to the Dark Arts garrison hat, as well as early access to the game three days before its global launch.
Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition will include all of the above, as well as a collectible figure of a floating ancient magic wand and a book, and a steelbook case.
The hidden files also seem to include links (that obviously do not currently work) for pre-orders from the Microsoft Store, Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop, which could potentially suggest that pre-orders for the title could go live in the near future.
Hogwarts Legacy is due out this Holiday for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch, though there isn’t much clarity yet on whether the Switch version will be native or cloud-exclusive. According to previous reports, the game will not offer any cross-gen upgrade paths on PlayStation and Xbox- read more on that through here.
