Earlier this year, Finnish developer Housmarque announced that they were putting the development of their battle royale title Stormdivers on hold, and that the entire studio would instead be focused on new unannounced game, which they described as their “most ambitious and biggest game to date.” While wee haven’t heard anything about this mystery project since then, a new report indicates that the game might end up being a PS5 launch title.
Gamereactor is reporting that Housemarque have partnered with Sony – as they did for PS4 launch title Resogun – and that they currently have an all-hands-on-deck approach for the development. The studio is planning on releasing the game – which the report describes as “non-arcady” – as a PS5 launch title this holiday season.
As is always the case with unverified reports, take this with a grain of salt, at least until we hear something from official channels. If this is accurate, however, there’s a strong chance that we’ll be hearing more about this game at the PS5 games showcase, which takes place tomorrow, June 11, at 1 PM PDT.
In the same report, Gameractor also talked about Far Cry 6, the long-rumoured new Batman game, and a remaster of the Mass Effect trilogy. Read more on each story through the links.
