Though there was certainly no shortage of mammoth AAA blockbuster reveals at the PS5: The Future of Games event, Sony also took out the time to highlight some excellent-looking upcoming indie gems, and the one that probably stood out the most was Kena: Bridge of Spirits.
Developed by indie studio Ember Labs – a small team founded by two brothers with a background in film and animation – Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a narrative-driven third person action-adventure game, with an emphasis on exploration and fast-paced combat. It takes place in what looks like a rich, vivid, fantastical world, and the game’s beautiful art style and visual aesthetic certainly helps it pop. All of this, along with a foundation for its narrative premise, is on full display in the game’s reveal trailer, which you can view below.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits will be a console exclusive for the PS5 for a limited time, and will also be releasing on PC. A release date for the game hasn’t yet been announced.
Sony also showed off the PS5’s hardware for the first time at the end of the event. Check out what the console looks like through here.
