Sony have been talking about the PS5 in some capacity for a good while now, but actual details on the console had been hard to come by until very recently. With its holiday 2020 release drawing closer, many were beginning to wonder when we would see the actual box itself – especially since Microsoft showed the Xbox Series X’s form factor back in December – and at the recent PS5 reveal event, right at the end of the show, we got to see it.

The PS5 looks slick, to put it mildly, with white panels surrounding a black core, and blue lighting giving it all the appropriate amount of sizzle. If you paid attention to the DualSense reveal not that long ago, this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Take a look at it below.

Sony have also confirmed that the PS5 will launch with two variants- a standard console, and an all-digital version with no disc drive. They also unveiled a charging station for the DualSense, an HD camera, a wireless headset for 3D audio, and a media remote. Check it all out in the video.

The PS5: The Future of Gaming event was a packed one, and before the reveal of what the box will look like, lots of major new games were announced. This includes first party heavy-hitters like the Demon’s Souls remakeGran Turismo 7, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Spider-Man: Miles Moralesand Horizon: Forbidden West, as well as third party games such as Hitman 3 and Resident Evil 8. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more details and updates.
