Bandai Namco have revealed that the Little Nightmares franchise has sold more than 12 million units across platforms. The franchise includes two games, aptly titled Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares 2, along with mobile spin-off title Very Little Nightmares.
Little Nightmares was originally released in 2017, putting players into the shoes of Six as they try to escape the Maw, which is an underwater vessel filled with monsters. The sequel, which released in 2021, revolved around Mono, who gets swept up in adventure after meeting the girl in the yellow raincoat.
Despite the success of the Little Nightmares franchise, Bandai Namco hasn’t made any announcements for potential sequels or further spin-offs.
Little Nightmares developer Tarsier Studios seems to be working on a new game, as evidenced by teases by the studio on Twitter. The studio was acquired by the Embracer Group back in 2019, and Bandai Namco was confirmed to be holding on to ownership of the Little Nightmares IP.
Games in the Little Nightmares franchise are available on a variety of different platforms. The original Little Nightmares is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS, while its sequel—Little Nightmares 2—is also available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Very Little Nightmares is available on iOS and Android.
