In its recent quarterly financial results, Nintendo revealed quite few interesting milestones. The Nintendo Switch has hit 34.7 million units sold and titles like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are doing incredibly well, with the fighter in particular standing at 13.8 million units sold. While we know that titles like Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Super Mario Maker 2 are inbound, and when exactly they’ll be coming, Nintendo has also reaffirmed that a few other exclusives that have been slated for releases this year will indeed be coming in 2019 and won’t be delayed.
Animal Crossing and Luigi’s Mansion 3 are apparently still coming this year. The “2019” date is marked as temporary, so perhaps there could be some official announcements on their releases in the coming months. Unfortunately, titles like PlatinumGames’ Bayonetta 3 still have a big “TBA” next to their release windows.
Interestingly, Metroid Prime 4 is marked as “(temp.)” and “TBA.” Could there be an announcement for it this year, even if it’s for 2020? It seems unlikely, since Nintendo only recently announced the project was rebooted under Retro Studios. As always, stay tuned for more details in the coming months, especially with E3 2019 coming up.
