As usually happens every year before The Game Awards airs, announcements have begun leaking. Today, it’s Mafia: The Old Country, whose release window has leaked courtesy of an ad captured by @DJari2020 on Twitter. It’s out in Summer 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, with wishlists seemingly coming soon.
The ad also showcases in-game visuals and cinematics alongside the series’ cover-based movement. As a prequel set in 1900s Sicily (complete with Sicilian voice acting), it seemingly stars a younger Don Salieri, who may be the central figure seen throughout. Close-quarters knife fights and horse-riding are also noticeable at points.
With a full world premiere promised for The Game Awards airing at 4:30 PM PST today, it’s likely we’ll see more extensive gameplay. The release window is intriguing because it makes you wonder where Borderlands 4, which will also appear with a new trailer and in-depth gameplay, could land next year. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
