Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is “Massive,” Says Venom Actor

Tony Todd, who is playing Venom in the upcoming Marvel's Spider-Man 2, says Insomniac's superhero sequel is going to be "massive."

Insomniac Games grabbed most of the headlines at the PlayStation Showcase last week, with their announcement of Marvel’s Wolverine taking everyone completely by surprise. But of course, they doubled down and made another massive announcement at the same show, revealing that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is in the works.

Something else that was confirmed not long afterward was that beloved actor Tony Todd will be playing Venom, who was confirmed to be in the game in its announcement trailer. And Todd himself, it seems, is already pretty impressed with what Insomniac’s got in the works. Responding to a question on Twitter, Todd revealed that he has been working on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for about two months, and that it’s going to be “massive.”

Of course, there’s very little that we know about the game right now, so “massive” could mean any number of things here. It is still reassuring to hear, though, that Insomniac is looking to kick things up a notch in the upcoming sequel.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is due out in 2023, and will apparently launch exclusively for the PS5, not as a cross-gen game.
