Mass Effect: Legendary Edition Xbox Pre-load is Live, Requires 84 GB

In space, no one can hear you clear your internal storage.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is launching in a week, and it’s no ordinary remaster. Mass Effect 2 and are getting some impressive visual upgrades as it is, but Mass Effect 1 in particular is more ambitious than most remasters are, and from combat to the Mako sections to boss fights to major visual enhancements, the game is getting a significant makeover- as significant as it can be short of being a full-fledged remake, it would seem. And the remaster trilogy’s got storage requirements to prove it.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition can now be pre-loaded if you are on Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S. And as spotted by @SnoopyG7 on Twitter, it’s a pretty big download. All told, the collection requires a whopping 84.3 GB of free storage space on your console- which doesn’t come as a surprise, honestly, but is still a pretty large number. It’s a good thing there’s still some time before the game comes out. Though on day one, you’ll still have a pretty big download to make, thanks to an 11.8 GB patch.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 14. On PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, where it’ll be playable via backward compatibility, it will run at 4K and 60 FPS.
