Metal Gear Online was showcased at this year’s The Game Awards and we got our first – or rather, third look – at how the mechanics of Metal Gear Solid would work in an online environment. In this case, we see the mechanics of Metal Gear Solid 5 on display.
Konami has confirmed that Metal Gear Online will be included with Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. So you’ll have both the Mother Base Invasion and Metal Gear Online to play with friends. Metal Gear Online will include several different classes for a squad of players to cooperate together and complete different objectives. Though this isn’t the first iteration of the online multiplayer, it looks to be a significantly bigger part of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain than previous versions.
