Metal Gear Solid 5 Definitive Edition Is Most Likely Just A Compilation – Rumor

Kept you waiting, huh?

When the mysterious Metal Gear Solid 5: Definitive Edition first leaked last month, I was among those who suggested that this package may not be an updated version of the game with the missing content from last year’s release – the fabled Episode 51 and/or Chapter 3 – included in it. Instead, I suggested, the Definitive Edition was probably just going to be a collection of Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain in one package.

Now, it appears that guess may have been right. While no official confirmation has yet been made, it seems like an Amazon Canada listing has spilled the beans on exactly what we should expect from this Definitive Edition. “Metal Gear Solid 5: The Definitive Experience includes two of the best Metal Gear Solid games: MGSV: The Phantom Pain and MGSV: Ground Zeroes,” the description reads.

Of course, it is entirely possible that this is placeholder text (especially given the poor grammar), and that the final version will be something else entirely. But at this point, I must point out that Metal Gear fans are trying to grasp at thin air- Chapter 3 and Episode 51 are probably never happening. It is best to accept that and move on. They should not expect much more from this ‘Definitive Edition’ than it is likely to be. And what it is likely to be is little more than a simple compilation.

Note that we are still marking this under rumor unless we learn more from Konami in the coming days.
