Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Disarmament Scene Unlocks on PC Version

This has happened without any apparent cause.

Metal Gear Solid 5 lacked a proper resolution, owing to its development, which was rushed near the end. This ended up giving players a half finished Chapter 2, and the complete lack of a Chapter 3- leading to a story that is distinctly unfinished.

In the quest to find out what may have originally been planned, dataminers found code in the PC version of the game over two years ago that indicated that there was a Chapter 3 in the game- Peace. What’s more, the cutscene that it encompassed apparently only played when all nuclear weapons in the game’s multiplayer mode had been disarmed- across the entire player base worldwide, which would of course prove to be a difficult ask.

Now, out of nowhere, the scene has been unlocked for the PC version of the game. This is perplexing because there are still active nuclear weapons in the multiplayer, and because it doesn’t come with the ‘Chapter 3’ title card- it’s just the scene, and nothing else. You can check it out for yourself below- and maybe resign yourself to the fact that there is no chapter 3 for this game, and there never will be one.
