New downloadable costumes are now available for Konami and Kojima Productions’ Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. These are actually the same costumes that were accidentally put up on the Xbox Live Store earlier this month, and then subsequently taken down. Today marks the actual day of their release. Go nuts, and buy them all without any fear or worries that the costumes may be taken down.
The costume DLC is not strictly cosmetic- it appears as though several kinds of tactical advantages, from retaining body heat to better camouflage, are afforded by these costumes. I am not sure how I feel about this kind of content being sold piecemeal as DLC, but of course, this is Konami, so I am not sure why I expected much better either.
The following costumes are the ones that are available. The costumes are sold for $/€0.99 each or in a bundle for $/€4.99:
- Fatigues (Naked Snake) (Male Soldier/Snake)
- Tuxedo (Naked Snake) (Male Soldier/Snake)
- Sneaking Suit (Naked Snake) (Male Soldier/Snake)
- Sneaking Suit (The Boss) (Female Soldiers)
- Jumpsuit (Eva) (Female Soldiers)
- Western Tack (D-Horse)
- Parade Tack (D-Horse)
