Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain Trailer Analyzed: Reveals Possible New Details

More information on Metal Gear Solid 5.

Hideo Kojima came in bandages at the GDC panel where he officially revealed that The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes are nothing but parts of Metal Gear Solid 5.

He revealed the promised trailer for the game. First off, it seems David Hayter is not voicing snake and Kiefer Sutherland has taken his place. If you remember Hayter created a poll recently asking whether fans would miss him, looks like he knew he wasn’t going to be in the game.

The game shows Snake walking from a coma and limping his way around the hospital. In this particular section, the game is linear because of Snake’s injury but will pick up later and will put the player in an open world.

The trailer was pretty awesome with next-generation graphics and an older looking Snake was shown flying around in a helicopter firing at people. Kaz Miller was shown in the trailer as well. You can also see Miller, Snake’s close associated in Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, at the beginning of the trailer.

We have the trailer which you can see below.

In the trailer an unknown man rides Snake on a horse. Snake then shoots someone who is apparently riding a unicorn like creature. The entire scene looks some sort of an hallucination. But again, Kojima is known to put weird things in every Metal Gear game he develops.

Snake is in coma for around 9 years and has woken up to find his arm amputated. He has a bionic arm which can be seen in the image below. The bionic arm is pretty similar to what Galvez had from Peace Walker had.

The game has been confirmed for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Surprisingly the game is not yet confirmed for PC, Wii U, PS4 or Microsoft’s next generation console.

Snake and his folks have apparently formed a new unit called Diamond Dogs. So it is safe to assume that MSF is disbanded in the game, probably during the fight that the trailer depicts.
We also have the first gameplay video from the game. Check it out below.

In the video above you will see a character that resembles to Psycho Mantis. Is young Mantis confirmed to be in the game?

Later on in the video, another unknown character appears (seems to be one of the bosses in the game). This character looks pretty similar to the one who Snake was firing at while riding on a horse.

Hopefully more information will be revealed at this year’s E3. Are you excited by the new trailer? Let us know in the comments section below.
