Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Will Get A PS4 Pro Patch Tomorrow

No more details on what this patch might entail are known, however.

Almost a year after the PS4 Pro launched, and over two years after Metal Gear Solid 5 was first made available, it will be getting a patch that enhances it for Sony’s PS4 Pro console. The patch will be available tomorrow to download, Konami announced on Twitter- given that the game is still available for free on PS Plus, this is actually some really good timing from them.

We don’t actually know what the patch does for the PS4 Pro, since no details were shared. I suppose expecting better resolutions as a minimum isn’t the worst possible idea, but beyond that, there isn’t much to go by here.

Of course, The Phantom Pain looks gorgeous as is, even on the PS4, and if you haven’t played it yet, now is as good a time as any to do that. While the game is clearly incomplete, and suffers from repetition, not to mention a weak story and resolution to the series’ mythos, the gameplay is superlative, and among the best in the industry.
