Keiji Inafune’s Mighty No. 9 may be facing a delay. According to NeoGAF, several retailers like Amazon and GameStop have updated their listing to include 2016 as a new placeholder release date.
However, if you head over to Xbox Live Marketplace or the PlayStation Store, you’ll spot the same September 15th release date as before. So what’s going on?
It’s possible that only the physical versions of the game were delayed while the digital versions go ahead as planned. As it stands, a representative from Deep Silver – which is in charge of publishing Inafune’s game – decline to offer any comment to GameSpot.
If true, this wouldn’t be the first time Mighty No. 9 has been delayed. It was originally scheduled to be out in April 2015 but was subsequently delayed to September. Take this recent delay news with a grain of salt but suffice to say, the lack of comment from Deep Silver isn’t exactly promising.
