Monster Hunter Wilds is a smash hit for Capcom, with over eight million sales in its first three days. It topped Japanese sales charts with over 600,000 units sold in its first week, but how did it perform in the United States? Though specific numbers aren’t available, Circana executive director and analyst Mat Piscatella confirmed it had a “great launch.”

It was the number one ranked title on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in weekly dollar sales. Interestingly, PC was the best performing platform, despite reports of performance issues resulting in a “Mixed” rating on Steam. Piscatella also revealed that it had the highest launch week dollar sales for a game since Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s debut.

While many have likely cleared the story and are engaged in the end-game, Monster Hunter Wilds has more content inbound. Title Update 1 lands in early April, bringing new monster in Mizutsune, the Gathering Hub, a higher difficulty and more event quests. Stay tuned for more updates and check out our review.
