Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Passes 2.5 Million Shipments and Digital Sales

Capcom's massive expansion is already a huge success.

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, which launched last week for PS4 and Xbox One, has surpassed 2.5 million in worldwide shipments and digital sales. The figure accounts for digital sales of Iceborne and shipments and digital sales of the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition. The latter includes the base game and its expansion for one price.

Iceborne was off to a great start already in Japan with more than 250,000 units sold in its launch week. It would be interesting to see the breakdown of sales between the standalone expansion and the Master Edition, especially since 13 million units of Monster Hunter World have already been sold till date. Regardless, the expansion is a success for Capcom.

In October, the first post-launch Iceborne monster will be introduced with Rajang. Capcom’s development team has promised the same amount of post-launch support for the expansion as the base game so there’s definitely more to come.
