Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Will Offer More Difficulty and Challenges – Capcom

Players with up to date gear should have an edge, says Capcom's Kaname Fujioka.

Capcom’s Monster Hunter World has received a number of accolades since launch. However, ask any hardcore fan of the series and they’ll tell you how much “easier” it is compared to previous games. While the developer has attempted to address this with Arch-Tempered Elder Dragons, special monsters like Extreme Behemoth, and so on, it will be going even further with Iceborne.

Speaking to Game Informer, executive director and art director Kaname Fujioka said that the expansion would deliver more challenges for players. “We’ve taken that feedback to heart from players who wanted more difficulty and more challenge and really delivered on that,” said Fujioka. That being said, if you’re a player who’s fairly geared out, then Iceborne should be a little easier to surmount.

Nevertheless, there are tons of monsters that threaten to ruin your day, from the new Elder Dragon Velkhana to series’ mainstays like Tigrex and Glavenus. Players will have new moves, abilities, armour, weapons, and Palico Tools to help, though. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is out on September 6th for Xbox One and PS4, while the PC version arrives in Winter.
