Though Iceborne, Monster Hunter World’s first and only major expansion, was the star of today’s Spring Update Reveal, Capcom didn’t forget current players. It confirmed that Arch-Tempered Nergigante would be available today for Xbox One and PS4 players. PC players can access the quest on June 7th UTC.

Defeating Arch-Tempered Nergigante will provide materials to create the Nergigante γ (gamma) armour set. If Arch-Tempered Xeno’jiiva was any indication, Nergigante may pose some terrifying new challenges in this state. Sadly, as noted in December, this will be the final content update for Monster Hunter World before Iceborne.

As for the expansion, Iceborne will release on September 6th for Xbox One and PS4 players. It will contain a new region, new monsters (including a brand new Elder Dragon), and new gear to earn. There will even be new moves for players to utilize depending on the weapon at hand – like launching a more powerful Slinger Shot when using the Great Sword.
