Monster Hunter World’s Upcoming PC Update Adds High Resolution Texture Support

Nergigante- now with more textures than ever before!

Capcom has been constantly releasing patches and updates for the PC version of Monster Hunter World (and other versions as well, actually), which has led to that version’s great success. They’ve now given out details on another upcoming update that adds a few smaller improvements, as well as one that PC players will be happy to see added to the game.

The latest update adds support for the high resolution texture pack DLC to the game (which, of course, is free). The texture pack will require 40 GB of free storage space, as well as 8GB of graphic memory (VRAM), while Capcom will also be releasing more detailed system requirements information once the update has gone live.

Other improvements include the addition of a TAA+FXAA option to the anti-aliasing in the advanced graphics options, bug fixes and localization issues, a new mouse control type, and more. The update goes live on April 4 at 00:00 AM UTC. You can check out the full patch notes below.

UPDATE NOTES:

  • Added support for High Resolution Texture Pack DLC.
     You can change to high resolution in-game textures by downloading
     this pack as free DLC from the Steam store.
     Note: The High Resolution Texture Pack requires at least 40GB of
     free space and 8GB of graphic memory (VRAM). We will provide
     more detailed information on the system requirements after the update.
  • Added a “TAA+FXAA” option to Anti-Aliasing in the Advanced Graphics Settings.
  • When selecting “Take All” at the rewards screen after completing a quest, a list of all items received will now be displayed.
  • Added a new mouse control type that is less sensitive to unintentional movement when controlling the Focus Camera with the mouse.
  • Added a “Friends Can Join” option to the Private Session Settings.
  • Various bug fixes, including localization-related issues.
