Next Monster Hunter Will Launch for Nintendo Switch 2 – Rumour

A known leaker has claimed that the next mainline Monster Hunter game will see a simultaneous launch on Nintendo's next-gen console.

With Nintendo allegedly having showcased tech demos of the Switch 2 (or whatever it ends up being called) to developers in behind-closed-doors presentations at Gamescom in August, leaks related to the console have been springing up with much greater frequency of late, including some of the games we can expect to launch for the system.

One of those, a known insider has claimed, will be the next mainline entry in the Monster Hunter franchise. The game was recently teased by Capcom in video celebrating the series’ 20th anniversary. According to Universo Nintendo’s Felipe Lima, who has a track record with accurate Nintendo leaks in recent monthsMonster Hunter 6 (or whatever Capcom chooses to call it), will see a simultaneous launch on the next-gen Nintendo console, which is allegedly due out in the second half of 2024.

“Next mainline Monster Hunter will be released on Switch [next-gen], yes,” Lima wrote on the Famiboards forum.

Even though Monster Hunter World never came to the Nintendo Switch, Capcom has enjoyed quite a bit of critical and commercial success with Monster Hunter Rise, which originally launched as a Switch exclusive. Given the fact that recent reports have claimed the Switch’s successor will be able to output visuals comparable to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S – with support for 4K/60 FPS gameplay, DLSS, and ray tracing – it would make sense that Capcom would want to ensure that its next Monster Hunter game also hits Nintendo’s console.

Recently, Lima also claimed that Far Cry 7, which is allegedly targeting Fall 2025 launch, will also see simultaneous Nintendo Switch 2 release. In fact, according to another prominent insider, you can expect to see plenty of major AAA multiplatform games being announced for the Switch successor- read more on that through here.
