Rumours of an imminent Nintendo Direct presentation have been heating up over the last few days. Just yesterday, we reported another such rumour claiming that the Direct presentation will be focused on third party games, and prominent industry insider and leaker Tom Henderson claimed that Ubisoft-developed and published Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope may very well end up being part of the show.
It seems, however, that that might not be a hundred percent accurate. Recently, Felipe Lima, editor in chief at Universo Nintendo, took to Twitter to claim that Ubisoft will be hosting a special gameplay reveal for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope on Wednesday, June 29, which is a day after the alleged Nintendo Direct presentation.
Interestingly, the aforementioned Henderson also chimed in, corroborating Lima’s claims and saying that the reveal event is apparently set for 6 PM CEST on the day (which means it should probably be officially announced soon).
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope was announced last year, and handed a 2022 launch window. Earlier this year, Ubisoft said that the strategy title would be out by the end of the current fiscal year, while previous rumours have claimed that it could be targeting a Holiday 2022 launch.
Its predecessor, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, and has been played by over 7.5 million players to date.
We have a tiny chance of this happening, because I don't think Nintendo want to overshadow the "Mario + Rabbids special gameplay" coverage from Ubisoft on Wed
