Despite hosting a Direct for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Nintendo is rumored to host a more traditional Nintendo Direct this month. Citing “anonymous and reliable” sources, Universo Nintendo said it should occur between September 11th and 15th. It’s unknown whether this will be a Direct Mini or a general Direct.

The website does have a track record of sorts, as it correctly reported on Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope having a separate gameplay reveal last year. However, this adds credence to other sources claiming a Direct in September. Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb reported that it would occur around the same time as the Nintendo Live in Seattle this past weekend.

While it didn’t happen, insider NateTheHate said it’s happening “soon-ish.” The publisher has scheduled a Direct for almost every September over the past ten years – it wouldn’t be the strangest occurrence. As always, we’ll need to wait for an official announcement from Nintendo, so stay tuned in the coming week.
