In Outriders, your main currency is Scrap. It can be used to purchase weapons and armor from vendors. In between quests, it’s always a good idea to check the vendors and see what they have on sale for Scrap since it could be an upgrade over current equipment.
Scrap will be obtained from pretty much everything you do, whether it’s slaying foes, dismantling armor, completing quests or opening chests. The most straightforward way to earn it is by selling any excess items to vendors (though make sure you dismantle anything that has a mod you need). You can also earn Scrap from the early chests doled out when going up the World Tiers. Naturally, the amount increases as the World Tier gets higher.
How to Level up Quickly
Slaying foes and completing quests confers XP for leveling up with the max level cap being 30. Though item level can go beyond level 30 (via higher World Tiers and Expeditions), Class Points and Skills are obtained by leveling up. You also gain passive additions to ability power, health and so on with each level.
There are several other ways to level up quickly. The first is to pick up all the different side quests and then go to the quest map. This will show the rewards for each and allow you to prioritize XP or perhaps getting better gear. Another great tactic is to take on Hunt and Bounty missions since they can give additional experience and drop Epic and potential Legendary items. As KackisHD outlines in his video guide below, you can take on a Hunt mission, kill the boss, collect the loot that drops and then die to the other enemies.
You’ll respawn in the same mission and the boss will be alive, meaning you can kill it again for more loot and repeat the process for some quick gains. Just make sure that it doesn’t cause your World Tier progress to drop too far. If some fights in the story are too overwhelming, then head back to a previous story point (via the option in the lobby) and simply do that part again for some extra experience or even to farm for more potential loot.
Finally, if you’re facing major issues with difficulty, don’t be afraid to drop the World Tier down a level. If you’re losing time by constantly dying, then it’s worth taking the small downgrade in bonus XP for further progress. You can always go back to the same World Tier and deal with enemies when you’re better geared. On that note, make sure to dabble in the crafting system as well since it can help raise attributes on items, equip mods that better suit your current skills and much more.
