With Overwatch 2’s closed PvP beta scheduled to go live tomorrow, many who signed up may be wondering when their invite will arrive. Speaking to Flats in a recent Twitch stream (clipped by Overwatch League graphic designer Zenofy), Blizzard senior community manager Andy Belford said, “My understanding is that it should be day and date. That day, we’ll start sending out the invites.”
That being said, it won’t be immediate so not everyone will have access at the same time. “Basically, we’ll turn it on and then we’ll start running essentially a script that goes through and grants access to everybody who we’re granting access to.” A Q&A and FAQ article is currently in the works that should provide more details so stay tuned for when that goes live.
Overwatch 2’s closed beta includes access to maps from Overwatch 1, four new maps, the new Push Mode, and a new Damage hero in Sojourn. Reworks for Sombra, Bastion, Doomfist and Orisa will also be live, though the new looks for the latter two won’t be available. The full game is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC – recent datamining indicates that it will have a Battle Pass and Seasonal progression.
