Persona 3 Portable is Getting a Multiplatform Remaster – Rumour

A prominent leaker claims that Atlus is working on a multiplatform remaster of Persona 3 Portable, which originally launched for the PSP over a decade ago.

Persona fans have been hoping that the series would escape the confines of PlayStation exclusivity and also make its way to other platforms with ports and remaster, and with the launch of Persona 4 Golden on PC last year, that started looking quite likely. In fact, a new leak claims that another Persona re-release is in the works.

Known leaker Zippo – who accurately leaked Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’s launch for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC – recently published very brief blog update in which, after talking about the aforementioned leak, he went on to claim that a multiplatform remaster of Persona 3 Portable is also in the works.

If that is indeed accurate, it would be an interesting choice. Persona 3 FES is widely considered to be the definitive version of Persona 3, and though Persona 3 Portable features some exclusive features – such as a playable female protagonist and a revised battle system that is in line with Persona 4 – it is lacking in exclusive new story content that was added in FES, and also does not feature fully animated cutscenes.

Atlus is currently amidst 25th anniversary celebrations for Persona. Up until Autumn of 2022, the Japanese developer has total of seven announcements planned, of which five have yet to be made. Interestingly, in June 2020, it was rumoured that PC ports were in the works for both Persona 3 Portable and Person 4 Golden– shortly afterward, the latter was officially announced.

Meanwhile, Atlus also confirmed earlier this year that it has started staffing up for the development of Persona 6.
