In its most recent financial report, Atlus revealed that Persona 4 Golden on Steam – which is a port of the revered 2012 RPG – had sold 900,000 units. However, those sales figures were only up till March 31st 2021. A new tweet from Atlus West confirmed that the title has actually sold over one million units for PC via Steam.
Though the original game launched in 2008 for PlayStation 2, it would release for the PlayStation Vita in 2012 as Persona 4 Golden. The latter is generally more beloved thanks to its new story content, Social Links, Personas, outfits and much more. On PC, the RPG can run in full HD with support for up to 60 FPS.
Both Japanese and English voiceovers are supported along with Steam Achievements and Trading Cards. It also doesn’t hurt that the retail price is only $19.99 (and it’s currently discounted as part of the Steam Summer Sale 2021). Could Persona 4 Golden’s success on PC spur Atlus to bring other titles like, say, Persona 5 Royal or even Persona 3 Portable to the platform? Time will tell so stay tuned.
