Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Features Playable Zombies, Xbox One-Exclusive Boss Mode

The disco zombies! The disco zombies!

After announcing that mobile and PC title Plants Vs. Zombies 2 was downloaded 16 million times since release, EA recently showcased a new trailer for the upcoming Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. And this one is perhaps most intriguing since you’ll be able to play as the zombies too.

It’s already been announced that Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will be a timed exclusive for Xbox One and Xbox 360, and that it would incorporate Kinect and SmartGlass in some way. Turns out, the Boss Mode for the game will be exclusive to those consoles.

Otherwise, it’s business as usual: Garden Warfare has you controlling individual plants, each with their own abilities, to take out zombies with other plants that can be created for support.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will also be on PlayStation 3 and PC, but Xbox peeps will be basking in the rays of zombie-killing (or plant-killing, if you roll that way) when the game releases in 2014.

Update: Added two videos.
