PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ Latest Xbox One Update on PTS Adds Training Mode

A separate mode to hone and refine your skills.

Bluehole have rolled out a new update for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on the Xbox One on the PTS (Public Test Server) that adds a Training Mode to the game. The mode, which runs on solo queues with matchmaking, sees from 5 to 20 players in a new map (that seems have been created specially for the Training Mode) where they can “practice all aspects of PUBG”.

The map measures at 2×2 km, and lets players test drive all the vehicles in the game on race tracks. There’s also landings on scattered targets which players can use to practice their parachute skills, as well as a firing range to play around with different guns. In addition to that, the devs note, “There are even areas to practice vaulting, close-quarters combat, and of course, sweet vehicle jumps.”

Matches in Training Mode will last a maximum of thirty minutes, and players in the mode cannot drop to below 1 HP (which makes sense, because it’s about training, and not really competitive). New screenshots for the map from Training Mode, as well as an introductory trailer for the mode, have also been released. You can view both below.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently available on PC and Xbox One, though recent reports indicate that it might be making its way to PS4 as well. In related news, following the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and its popular battle royale mode, Blackout, the player count in PUBG seems to be dropping persistently. Read more on that through here.
