Pokemon Legends: Arceus Tops Weekly UK Retail Charts with Massive Launch

The new Pokemon game enjoys excellent sales, while Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection also comes in at No. 5.

The latest weekly charts for physical video game sales in the UK are in (via GamesIndustry), and it was big week for sales in the region last week. Pokemon Legends: Arceus topped the charts, unsurprisingly, and as we reported recently, enjoyed a massive launch. It is, in fact, fourth biggest launch ever for a Pokemon game in the UK, beating last year’s Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The new RPG, in fact, sold so much that it account for nearly half of all retail game sales in the UK for the week.

Pokemon wasn’t the only major new release of the week though. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection launched for the PS5 on the same day, and the remastered duology has debuted at No. 5 in the charts. Meanwhile, Rainbow Six Extraction has fallen out of the top 10 entirely, dropping down to No. 17.

Elsewhere, evergreen Nintendo Switch exclusives continue to sell well, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at second place, Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the fourth spot, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild climbing to No. 6. The likes of FIFA 22, Call of Duty: Vanguard, and Grand Theft Auto 5 also figure into the top 10.

You can check out the full top 10 for the week ending January 29 below.
