Quake 2 Remaster Will Launch Later Today for $10 – Rumour

Leaks continue to claim that a remaster of the classic first person shooter will be announced and shadow-dropped at QuakeCon later today.

QuakeCon 2023 is kicking off today, and the expectation is that it will bring some interesting new reveals and announcements. One reveal in particular has been in the rumour mill for few weeks now, with a remastered version of Quake 2 having been rated in South Korea in June, followed by a leak corroborating its existence not long afterward.

Now, prominent leaker bilbil-kun has offered new details in a report on Dealabs on when exactly the remastered shooter will launch. As per the leaker, Quake 2’s remastered version – which will apparently be titled simply Quake 2 – will be announced and released later today, following in the footsteps of the original game’s remaster, which was also shadow-dropped at QuakeCon a couple of years back. As per the leaker, the Quake 2 remaster will retail for a price of $10 on all platforms.

It remains to be seen whether the remaster will also launch with new content the way the previous remaster did, which saw MachineGames adding newly developed content to the classic shooter experience. Apparently we’ll know for sure soon enough though, so stay tuned for further updates.
