Rainbow Six Extraction Crosses 3 Million Players in First Week

Released on January 20th, the co-op shooter was also reportedly the fourth most popular console game on Xbox Game Pass in the United States.

Update: In an official tweet, Ubisoft has confirmed over three million players in the first week of Rainbow Six Extraction’s launch.

Original Story:

Rainbow Six Extraction, a co-op spin-off of Rainbow Six Siege’s Outbreak mode, has seen its fair of criticism before and after release. Development has also been less than ideal with numerous delays throughout the years. Nevertheless, it seems to have done well enough in terms of player numbers for its launch week.

According to Benji-Sales on Twitter, it reached over three million players in its first week. It’s also the fourth most popular console title on Xbox Game Pass in the United States. Overall, not too bad though a number of other factors like the lack of other major big releases in that week may have contributed.

Also, as impressive as player numbers in the launch week have been, it doesn’t necessarily reflect sales numbers. Given Ubisoft’s live-service approach with the game, it also remains to be seen how much of the active player base will stick around for the long run. Rainbow Six Extraction is currently available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia. Check out our official review here.
