Red Dead Redemption 2 Has Shipped Over 25 Million Copies; Grand Theft Auto 5 Crosses 110 Million

These games are probably pretty successful.

There’s success in the video game’s industry and then there’s Rockstar success in the industry. Today we got a look at that stark difference with just how big the two games they released for this generation has been, and each has done insane numbers.

As part of the latest Take-Two financial conference call, Chief Executive Officer Strauss Zelnick confirmed that last year’s western, Red Dead Redemption 2, has already shipped 25 million units (and keep in mind this is before PC version has released yet). Considering the brief timeframe, that’s an astonishing number. Even more astounding is Grand Theft Auto 5 continues to sell and has now passed the 110 million units sold point. Another incredible success, to the point where the game has literal casino inside of it. Both are also undoubtedly driven by their continued online modes.

Rockstar has been at the top of the mountain for many years, but either the mountain has gotten higher or the company has ascended to a new level. Either way, the developer and their parent company aren’t going anywhere soon.
