There’s a lot of strong feelings about the latest update to Grand Theft Auto 5‘s online mode, Grand Theft Auto Online. The Diamond Casino and Restort is, for all intents and purposes, a full virtual casino within the game that allows you to gamble at various games with real world money. Due to that it’s actually been banned in several regions. But regardless of what you think of that, it certainly attracted a lot of people, the most since the service’s launch, in fact.

In talking with The Hollywood Reporter, Rockstar confirmed that the Casino and Resort update brought the largest influx of players since Grand Theft Auto Online‘s initial launch all the way back in October of 2013. And I doubt all of those people are coming out just to see the potential Bully 2 teaser in it.

It’s a hot button issue, especially with monetization methods in games getting looked at very carefully over the last year, but there’s no denying a lot of people are coming to this casino, even if there’s no cash out in sight. Grand Theft Auto Online is part of Grand Theft Auto 5 which is available now.
