Redfall Hotfix Fixes Infinite Loading Screen and Save System Crash Issues

Hotfix v1.01 is mostly about backend improvements, updating game server heartbeat logic for "improved backend communication."

Arkane Austin’s Redfall has received tons of negative attention since releasing last week. It launched with numerous bugs and gameplay issues, earning significant backlash from fans and critics. Such was the state of its launch that Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer personally apologized while confirming that Xbox didn’t “do good job early on” in engaging with the developer, leaving them to work on the game.

Regardless, it will be Arkane’s “most supported game post-launch,” so the work continues. The first hotfix, v1.01, fixes an infinite loading screen issue and save system crash that could occur when suspending and resuming gameplay while fast traveling. It also updates the game server heartbeat logic for “improved backend communication” with the live servers.

And that’s pretty much it. Stay tuned for more details on other patches and a 60 FPS Performance Mode, which was delayed past launch. Redfall is available for Xbox Series X/S and PC and is playable on Game Pass. Check out our official review and some of the things wrong with it here.
