Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster Sells 1 Million Units Worldwide

There is a future for actual good Resident Evil games, after all!

Capcom’s remasters of old Resident Evil games continue to be a success- the Resident Evil 0 remaster that they launched earlier this year for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC has shipped over 1.1 million copies worldwide, the company announced in their earnings report today.

This puts the remaster within touching distance of the original Resident Evil 0, which sold 1.3 million copies worldwide when it launched on the Gamecube. It also means that the game has managed to sell 300,000 copies in the last three months, since it was sitting at 800,000 copies sold worldwide at the end of March- selling 100,000 copies a month isn’t half bad for a remaster of a decade old game.

Going forward, Capcom has Resident Evil 7, the next evolution of the franchise, as well as a remake of Resident Evil 2, in the pipeline, so fans of the franchise should find plenty to play- and that isn’t counting some of the less desirable Resident Evil products, like Umbrella Corps.
