Resident Evil 3 Gets New Patch For Bug Fixes; Capcom Confirms No DLC Planned

The game is a "finished product."

The Resident Evil franchise is one that never stops trucking, so to speak, with games coming at a steadier pace than almost any other. We should be getting some kind of news about the next installment relatively soon, but in the meantime there is still Resident Evil 3. The game also got a new update today, but it seems minor overall, and that looks to be all it’ll be getting.

The newest patch for the game, 1.04, is live across all platforms. There’s no change list for it, only that it fixes “various bugs.” Producer Peter Fabiano spoke to Siliconera as well, and when asked about updates, he also said that the game was a “finished product,” which seems to also put the pin on any DLC hopes for the campaign. Just to be clear, this is referring to the single player campaign of Resident Evil 3, not the multiplayer Resident Evil: Resistance, which will continue to get update.  Capcom looks at them as functionally two different games.

It’s not a huge surprise, considering Resident Evil 2‘s DLC support was minimal, and we haven’t heard a peep about any DLC for 3 since it released over 2 months ago. With Capcom also rumored to already be working on multiple other games in the franchise already, there probably isn’t the time. Resident Evil 3 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. On the PlayStation side, the game is also on sale during the Days of Play promotion.
